"Deportation to Kazakhstan in 1940" -1996- The painting represents the scene as seen by the artist one night in 1940. The wagon follows other wagons in direction of the train which has stopped outside the railway-station. It takes away the artist's father with his two granddaughters. The sister of the artist is following the wagon. All (except the younger 8 years old) died at Kazakhstan in 1942. click on picture
